The Originals

While I admit I don’t usually do much FanGirling about the Vampire Diaries in the last two years (and it does not have anything to do with with Nina Dobrev leaving) I just really stopped liking the show in a lot of the ways that it went after they did kill off my favorite of Nina Dobrev’s doppleganger’s Katherine. Anyway, that happened to be the first and last time we saw an Original in Mystic Falls.

Well we won’t see that tonight, but there will be a full two hour cross over of the Vampire Diaries and the Originals defending their sire lines in New Orleans tonight. Which I fully support. I happen to ABSOLUTELY love the show The Originals. I thought the characters of Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah were the best part of The Vampire Dairies (Hence another reason I stopped watching the Vampire Diaries) The Originals pays more homage to the Anne Rice type of vampire. There is less romance, more brutal anti hero’s, you love one character for a while before you dislike them for a while. Daniel Gillies as Elijah, Joseph Morgan as Klaus and well there is just always a very intense storyline going on, that has to do with a very long family history and conflict of the original vampire family. Conflicting with The Witches of New Orleans and their heritage as well as Werewolves of whom Klaus and Hayley and their child hope are hybrids.

When DC Legends of Tomorrow started airing a few weeks ago, The Vampire Dairies and The Originals was moved to a deadly Friday night spot on the CW. Most don’t survive it. While this is the third season of The Originals, by CW Standards they are a lock for a fourth season, airing on Friday nights isn’t great for them. So I encourage any and all who have abandoned watching either of these shows in the CW shuffle and check out the crossover tonight. Everything is always a little bit better in New Orleans. And there is plenty of eye candy to go around! Talent too!
